ADVAIT'S MAGIC

PARTICIPATE IN HACKATHONS!

Hackathons are an amazing way to learn outside of school and to meet cool people. It's also one of the best ways to be able to build really cool projects. Doing these outside activities inspired me and my friends to start our own Hackathon, too!

SPECIAL TEACHERS

I was fortunate to have great teachers. Mrs. Chin-Dixon, who was one of my science teachers, was the driving force behind the science club and any science fair related efforts. She got me excited about seeing all my other prospects out there, but she also showed me the value of giving back.

LEARN FROM EACH PLACE

I moved around a lot when I was a kid. I was born in India. I was there for four years but I don't remember too much. My family went from India to Texas, and eventually to England. I’ve been in Canada for ten years now and I think I’ve been to 10 elementary schools! Moving around can be a cool experience for a kid to learn so much in so little time.

FIND MENTORS

I remember one of my mentors at a Hackathon taking the time to explain thoroughly about these specific machines I was interested in. Attending these Hackathons is an easy way to build connections like this and get mentors, especially when you're just starting out!
