An interesting fact that is not known about you

I was an épée fencer for over 10 years and competed at both provincial and national tournaments. Although I have tried many other sports, fencing’s mix of strategic swordplay and athleticism intrigued me and was a large part of my life growing up.

What are your future aspirations or dreams?

After working on my personal project, a deep learning algorithm that detects skin cancer from an image, I became deeply fascinated by artificial intelligence and the countless problems it can solve. My long term goal is to study engineering and gain valuable research and industry work experience. Eventually I plan to create a startup that will develop technologies with global impacts to better the lives of others.
